Contests, demonstrations, performances, many activities that have returned after these two complicated years of the pandemic. Created by Yannis Lemaître, who regretted the lack of events related to hunting activities in Nièvre, the Hunting and Nature Show became one of the largest events of its kind.

This week will be marked especially by the presence of two national breeding competitions, which represent the first for the show. Custom dog presentations are also on the program. And the traditional equestrian show, which will be given by Cupid Stables.

In a “rural and friendly” atmosphere

Present on Saturday and Sunday, manager Tiphaine Bondoux and his riders will practice archery on horseback and offer initiation during the day. In the evening, they will give a musical performance. Costumed riders move their horses to the rhythm. Fireworks will be held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this event.

Sunday will continue this momentum. Mass in Saint-Hubert will be celebrated in the morning. Then the same activities will be offered. For example, pony rides and aerobatics: squatting, standing…

The end of the “on the farm” dog show was one of the highlights. Volunteers, as always, will take care of the public in a “rural and friendly” atmosphere, promises Yannis Lemaître. Neophytes and enthusiasts are, of course, warmly welcome.

The dog competition “on the farm”

Hunting dogs always have their place in the living room of Saint-Honoré-les-Bains. The dog competition “on the farm” allows their behavior to be tested in the face of a strange animal confrontation situation that they must stop.

Attracting several hundred people every year, this competition is unique in France. Usually, the contests are conducted with real animals. Here, it will be a mechanical pig, hidden in the reconstruction of a thicket. The dog is kept nearby and the pig comes out suddenly. “The attitude of the dog can be noticed immediately, as well as its barking”, explained the organizer, Yannis Lemaître.
