Diane Leyre’s life changed in December 2021, when she was elected Miss France 2022. For more than six months, she fulfilled her role as a national ambassador in various events in France and abroad. A challenge launched by someone who describes himself as “not the most flirtatious of (his) girlfriends” at the microphone of Jean-Pierre Foucault. But Diane Leyre always does what she wants, without hesitating to take risks to live her life the way she wants, encouraged by her family.

First job at 15, first apartment at 17
In the columns of Figaro, the beauty queen confessed that she is eager to grow independently. “When I was 12 years old, I told my dad that I couldn’t wait to be 18 to live on my own. At the age of 17, I got a studio in the same building as my parents. I started work around 15. Markets, babysitting, hostess…” A trait inherited from her parents who always told her that if she wants something, she has to work to get it. “They are beautiful and I get a lot of love from them but I want to prove to them that I can do things on my own.”
A year after leaving the family nest, he even left to settle abroad to continue his studies: “I went to IE University in Madrid, the seventh best business school in the world, thanks to a merit scholarship. After four years, I got my Bachelor’s degree in business and administration, which allowed me to be trilingual.” Diane Leyre doesn’t hide it: “It was a challenge to be alone at 18 in another country, especially since I don’t speak English and Spanish very well. These were the best years of my life. ” Especially since the young woman is very proud to not owe anyone, as she said in the Gala columns: “In fact, I did not pay for my studies, because I have a merit scholarship. (. ..) I managed. As for myself, I’ve been independent from my parents since the age of 17, and I’ve done everything alone.”
Her father did not want her to become Miss France
His participation in Miss France is not much in the career plan of Diane Leyre, who nevertheless wants to renew this new challenge. But her father was not necessarily motivated by this desire, as he confessed to Gala: “At first I said to myself: ‘If it is fun for him …’. I saw for my daughter one another destiny.” He had stopped her a few years ago, but he had a very good reason for that: he wanted her to finish her studies first.
“He was right”, he confirmed to TVMag: “At the age of 18, I couldn’t do it. Now, I come with more things to say, a head heavier and squarer shoulders. I feel ready. ” In the columns of Le Parisien, her father did not hide his pride after the selection of his daughter: “I am sure that Diane will be crowned Miss France, so that we do not sleep and sleep late”, Laughs André Leyre. “When my daughter was elected, I said Thierry Roland’s sentence when France beat Brazil in the 98 World Cup final: now we die in peace!” On the microphone of RTL, he also confided, moving: “I come from a family where I don’t think there are people with many glories so for the whole family, it’s good to mark History for that.”
