Metaverse College, the first school dedicated to the metaverse universe opens in La Défense

And while Mark Zuckerberg promises to create 10,000 jobs over the next few years in Europe to release this new technology to his group, Digital College and Collège de Paris have joined forces to launch the Metaverse at La Défense next year of school. , with Huawei, Maestria Blockchain, Bpifrance and Ipocamp as partners. This school completely dedicated to the metaverse is the first in the world, welcome co-founders Ridouan Abagri and Olivier De Lagarde, president of the Collège de Paris who officially launched registration on Friday March 11 in a presentation at the Bpifrance area.

Access to a job-study or initial training basis, Metaverse College wants to train versatile young people, in the duty of overseeing the design of “a new virtual world”. For the first promotion, the school aims to welcome about 50 students from Bac +3 to Bac +5 who are already computer oriented or digital training. Next year, some training will improve the school, which will also enable the training of post-baccalaureate students. “We want to reach 200 students in the second year and then 5,000 in five years. With the lofty goal we want to reach 10,000 students in five years ”, explained Ridouan Abagri, co-founder and director of Metaverse College.

For work-study, the demand seems to be there, said Ridouan Abagri. “There are already a lot of companies looking. There are already offers related to cryptocurrencies and metaverse devices, ”he said.

Students can aim for a “Bachelor 3 Metaverse Project Manager”, a “Ms1 and Ms2 Metaverse & Data Science” or a “Ms2 Metaverse Product Designer”. A “Ms2 Management of cryptocurrency, NFTs and meta-heritage”, will also be offered at the school. The cost of the training will vary between 6,500 and 10,000 euros with companies paying for students who choose the work study program.

“Theoretical courses are enhanced throughout the year with conferences, company visits, workshops with companies and other professional experiences that allow students to fully immerse themselves in the Metaverse universe and of its exponential growth ”, introduces Metaverse College, which calls on specialist trainers such as developers and project managers and even aims to attract government members from time to time.

As a result of these new trainings, students will be able to aim for new jobs as XR developer, 3D designer, XR community manager, data modeller, data architect, NFT designer… or meta-heritage manager with annual salary that can approach more than 100,000 euros.

Metaverse College will make La Défense its main campus. Metaverse College will move to the basement of the Grande Arche at the start of the academic year in October along with other Collège de Paris schools. The school will also move to a new, fully renovated building in Nanterre before occupying a third building in two years along the La Défense esplanade.
