At Mars Petcare, in Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel, dogs are welcome in the office!

Imagine yourself at work, installed at your desk, your dog is quietly lying at your feet… This scene is not unique within Mars Petcare, an American group, whose site at Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel-headquarters and factory in France-has more than 500 people.

For forty years, the prepared food specialist and hygiene products for pets, offers its employees go to work with their dogs. Mars Petcare also founded a “dog park” outside in its place in the Loire Valley. A practice reinforced by returning to office, after two years in jail.

So far, the Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel site has received a dozen dogspunctually or regularly, and “many new files are processed”, according to Donatienne du Vignaudirector of communications at Mars Petcare.

Employees can bring their dogs as many days as they want “as long as they can preserve their well-being and that they can find their rhythm”, explains Donatienne du Vignau. On the river, they got the agreement of their manager and their close associates.

The company has established a “charter of good practices”. Acceptable doggies should be in good health, present with the latest vaccinations, clean, social and educated :

“The employee is responsible for the presence of his animal. It’s up to him to take his feces, to walk him.”

What are the benefits?

According to the communications director, the dog “brought the employee better work-life balancereduce his stress, increase his productivity, make him more loyal to the company, strengthen the bond between employees ”.
