In Chaumont (Haute-Marne), firefighters had to intervene to recover the missing dog on the roof. The unique intervention took place on Monday, June 27, and ended well.
Playing with a dog barking, we didn’t know. Not for a cat hanging from a tree we call the fire department, but for a dog companion who was able to finish a roof.
It was Monday, June 27, 2022. At noon, the fire and rescue service (Sdis) department of Haute-Marne received this confusing call (less than for fools).
Not one or two, the intervention of the four firefighters began without delay. At the site, an American Staff named Panda waits for them on top of an attic (“a Jacobin” in jargon), dominates 34 on the high rue des Tanneries in Chaumont (Haute-Marne, see map below).
“He can’t be down anymore and isn’t very sure”declared by Lieutenant Xavier Mourer of France 3 Champagne-Ardenne. “I was wondering how he got on the roof …” That’s enough “abtik” to get back there, but not to get back. Firefighters are more accustomed to cats in the trees.
Firefighters no longer need to be involved in this case (such as bee or wasp nests), consider “That cats have to be very agile to descend when they can climb”. And that there is very little left to see “kalabera” at or at the foot of a tree.
“They went to get it using a system of rescue packs, which is a set of ropes attached to the roof to grow safely. It was a small increase: the work was mostly by special groups. which we call Grimp .: that’s to say research and intervention groups in hazardous environments, which are often found in big cities and big departments – Paris is the origin – and that allows especially to lower the reminder . “
“We don’t Grimp in Haute-Marne, but our people are used to moving roofs when there are fires or storms, floods … We know how to move the roof safely in all conditions, both methods are used to recover the dog. “ (to be discovered in the video below).
But why didn’t you use that old automatic turntable ladder (Epa)? “Because the problem with animals is that if they’re scared of something coming their way, they’re more likely to move.”
“However, we saw that the dog had his claws resting on the edge of the roof. He had to stop moving, otherwise he would fall. As for a cat, he would stay on the roof with no problem … ” (which we can clearly see in the impressive Facebook post below)
Anyway, Panda “handed over to its owners without any problems”. The firefighter who hugged him testified “that he was so kind, he let himself be done by the two firefighters who went up to make sure of him”.
The opportunity to have an explanation of how this canine ended up there. “Above the roof, there is a part of the wall – there are some around Chaumont – and the dog used, from a small area, to go to a flat roof, easily ma -access. Usually, it was not bright, but there, he slipped and found himself on this sloping roof. The blow of luck as he came to the little jacobine, on the edge of the void, near the fall of ten meters. ” The roofs “Communicate and reach the edge of the ramparts: we find ourselves there by jumping over a small railing a meter away”.
This intervention “amazing”, “rare”there “bring back the smile” of firefighters. Provided that Panda does not repeat his acrobatics on one of his walks.
