Abandoned for months, 2 dogs finally get a fresh start after their master’s conviction

For a year and the death of their owner’s wife, 2 Shih Tzu lived in complete neglect, without care, deprived of water and food for days. Rescued and placed in a foster family, they can now be adopted after the sentence pronounced against their former master.

The plight of 2 dogs being neglected and left on their own ended with the intervention of the association. Stephane Lamart last year. Recently, their former owner was tried and sentenced, allowing them to adopt. A story told by 76News.

The accused survived Yvetot, on the Seine-Maritime. He became the subject of a report that followed whereStephane Lamart Association sent an investigator in March 2021. The latter noticed that 2 Shih Tzu were living in poor condition. They were left outside permanently, in a garden full of dirt and urine. They have no shelter or bed worthy of the name.

Cachectic, unknown and with no health records, dogs have to endure days of lack of food and water, while their coats are very dirty, infected and full of parasites due to lack of maintenance. A situation in which they suffered for a year and that likely began with the death of their master’s spouse.

A horrible discovery was also made in this garden, the dead body of a 3e iro. An autopsy performed by a veterinarian revealed that there was a 40 cm long piece of tissue in his abdomen. He had no chance to escape the trap because of this foreign body, hunger and severe neglect.

After their rescue, the 2 survivors were cared for byStephane Lamart Association. Its website later announced the conviction of their former owner, expressed on June 7, 2022 after his appearance in a police court in Rouen 2 months ago.

A few hundred euros fine, dogs adopted by their foster families

He was therefore sentenced to a fine of 150 euros per dog for denying them care, as well as another 35 euros per animal because he did not recognize them. Civil party, theStephane Lamart Association will be paid, to the defendant, the amount of 500 euros in damages, as well as 300 euros in legal costs.

Shih Tzu have been even better since then. Placed in a foster family, they cannot be adopted until the court decides. Now that it’s over, their new life can officially begin, and it’s likely that their temporary residence will be theirs for the rest of their lives.
