Arc A380: Intel graphics card performance revealed

Intel has been communicating for almost a year on its Arc Alchemist graphics card, but it must be admitted that the manufacturer has become smarter in recent months, between delays and reduced performance. The first tests fall

Other benchmarks have reached us with the first models of the Arc A380, a small entry-level graphics card sold in China to integrators that can make it andoverclock little. This GPU is clearly not designed to run triple A titles at the moment in 4K, but is intended for play in Full HD (1080p), and still need to reduce graphics to the most in -demand titles.

Our colleagues from Wccftech Intel has published official data on the display of this card with some well -known games, to compare it with its direct competitors: the GeForce GTX 1650 from Nvidia and the Radeon RX 6400 from AMD seen around at 200 € now. For information, the games in question are set to 1080p and have average quality graphics.

We can see that the GTX 1650 offers better performance than the A380 in most games with 10, 20 or even 30 fps still. The Radeon RX 6400 is also faster overall, except for a few titles like The Witcher 3, Total War: Troy hope F1 2021. Disappointing results, however, certainly show that it is possible to play fluid at more than 60 fps, but the games chosen are less childish or less demanding.

AMD processors are not good?

A Chinese user (via Bilibili) also showed that using an AMD CPU with Arc A380 lowers its performance by an average of 17% in games compared to an A380 + Intel CPU configuration. The explanation may lie behind the fact that the Resizable Bar (a technology that gives the CPU direct access to video memory) is supported by processors used by Intel Arc GPUs. But this is not the case with AMD processors that have their own Smart Access Memory technology.

The Intel Arc A380 is a rocky start, and it’s expected that the higher-end Alchemist-series GPUs will be in a better position against the competition. Without offering high performance, these GPUs can benefit from a good price -quality ratio, but must ensure a minimum in terms of performance and compatibility. Currently, the A380 is only distributed in China at a recommended price of close to € 160. We don’t see it coming to Europe before the end of the summer.
