10 new column speakers, bookshelf, Dolby Atmos, central speakers and subwoofers …

The Klipsch Reference Base series of speakers appeared in 2014, renewed in 2018 and updated again in 2022. In the menu, a revolution at the bottom and an evolution of the form in addition to the reduction in the number of pakisayran. We started the presentations with columns before going back around, in the centers, on the subwoofers and on the active speakers in many later news.

The American manufacturer, for the Klipsch Reference Base 2022 series, has unveiled a total of ten new references. Regardless of the desired Hi ‑ Fi or, of course, the Home Cinema configuration, the Klipsch Reference 2022 series can meet all needs.

As shown in the introduction to this news, we therefore started the presentations using three standing speakers Klipsch R ‑ 800F, Klipsch R ‑ 600F and Klipsch R ‑ 605FA. If the first two differ according to the size of the on-board boomer (see details of each model below), the latter includes a Dolby Atmos (High) module directly on top of it, consisting of a 2.5 cm tweeter and a 13.33 cm mid-woofer of injection-molded graphite (see photo above), in the Up-Firing position (facing the ceiling). Everything is of course inclined at 15 ° to fulfill Dolby Laboratories specifications.

Klipsch Reference Base 2022, acoustic package

Technically, the Klipsch reference loudspeaker includes all of the brand’s audio DNA, starting with an unprecedented 90 ° x 90 ° Tractrix horn with a wide distribution and edge-to-edge configuration (the horn occupies the entire width of the pregnancy, see photo above on Klipsch R-800F) for sound dispersion, but maximum precision and clarity as well. So the soundstage was expanded as well. This pavilion is associated with a Tweeter of LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) aluminum with Kapton suspension. It offers minimal distortion. Likewise, the boomers benefit from the Klipsch TCP (Thermoformed Crystalline Polymer) process with modified cone geometry for the 2022 model year (see image below). The polymer material combines hardness and lightness for a much more effective translation at short frequencies. To get back to the cones of these loudspeakers, they can benefit from an accentuated hollow shape and thus approach the profile of the Klipsch Reference Premiere speaker loudspeakers (presentation to come).

In addition to the new speakers, the Klipsch Refrence Base also benefits from a reinforced cabinet, with the goal of eliminating resonance and distortion phenomena.

Klipsch Reference Base 2022, Dolby Atmos R ‑ 40SA speaker connectors

Final details, the Klipsch Reference speakers feature magnetic grilles, a scratch-resistant vinyl finish with a wood effect and, of course, copper-colored cones, the brand’s mark. Note for these 2022 models, the absence of the front screws for an enhanced aesthetic. We still noticed the connectors being a smart and fully integrated connector system with Dolby Atmos Klipsch R ‑ 40SA speakers (presentation to come) and the R ‑ 800F, R ‑ 600F columns to make it easy to add the first named in seconds . It’s practical, simple and it avoids long cables to handle behind the speakers.
