The dog froze, still staring at the small herd cornered in a corner of the fence. “That’s enough! Ix jumped, and the sheep ran at great speed across the field, surrounded by the shepherd, sending everyone home to another place.” For the flock, we worked the predatory instinct of the dog. They are genetically programmed for that, ”explained Ix’s mistress, also president of the canine club that recently settled in town.
Puppy School and Herd
Stéphanie Ruiz presented her interest in this practice, the watch :
Border Collies are trendy dogs because they are cute, but require agility, obedience or vigilance to keep them busy or they may develop OCD and try to catch bikes and cars, moving. That’s why so many go to shelters.
Driving the crowd will be offered as a discovery just for border collies by Entente cynophile havraise (it should change its name after its move), in addition to puppy school being its main activity.
Puppy school’s first goal: improve your social skillswith people and other dogs, so that they can understand and adapt to the situations in their lives: “being sniffed by strangers like the veterinarian or the groom, walking on a leash, walking with his master, a man mowing the lawn or riding a bicycle… ”Cleanliness and simple commands are also taught.
the Saturday morning, volunteer teachers trained at the territorial canine center will give lessons to the puppies and their owners, and will also create a weekly program for them. The club has 9 teachers.
We are here to help people educate their dogs, and especially to help dogs!
Since raising her first dog 14 years ago, Stéphanie Ruiz has developed a passion for this activity.
Competition in agility
Rehabilitation of adult dogs is not the goal of the canine club.
With a puppy, let’s start from zero! he explained. They had about four months of socialization and after that they started to get scared.
This is why they have to be very accustomed to people, other animals and different stimuli.
The Entente cynophile, born in 1989, has up to 100 members in Le Havre. He moved in with a dozen of his resident members, including four other committee members: Fabien, Sophie, Bertrand and Jennifer. The association would like to thank the municipality of Fatouville-Grestain, which made the land available to it.
If a one-year convention is renewed, the kennel club would like to host in the future once a year a agility competition, where a hundred dog/master duos will compete. The club also has some licenses and, in the sheepfold, some facilities for the benefit and entertainment of fellow fur!
Membership is € 100 until the end of the year and about € 200 throughout the year. Membership provides access to puppy training classes on Saturday mornings, joint walks and kibble orders. Contact: 06 43 48 44 53 or email@example.com
