Moments are fast approaching for the Metaverse these days, but it’s worth stopping at one of the moments that happened on the Nasdaq stock exchange in New York on Friday.

I was there to see Metaverse Specialist Cathy Hackl and the Journey team ringing the opening bell for a swap at a Metaverse Celebration Ceremony.

Hackl is known as the “Godmother of the Metaverse” and she sold her consulting firm Futures Intelligence Group to Journey, a Metaverse agency that helps brands create things for the digital world. Journey has partnered with Manticore Games to create a Nasdaq experience in the virtual realm of Core. And Nasdaq played Core’s animations as Hackl spoke before the opening bell.

Hackl also brought several people from Journey together on stage as well as various women from brands focusing on the metaverse. It was an interesting moment to watch, and CNBC aired the episode for a few minutes, which is rare for such an opening bell broadcast.

“I’m glad to be here. Now, as hundreds or thousands of people are starting to come down to New York for NFT NYC, I can’t help but feel that a shift in creativity is in us and what we build is even more important, ”he said. and Hackl. “As co-founder of Journey, I’m not the typical face you see when you think about technology. That’s why it’s important for everyone to know that this is the future for everyone. We’re not trying to define the metaverse, but let’s build and create it together.

Hackl added, “As you know, today we are announcing our metaverse studio. We are a group of enthusiastic game developers, futurists, technologists and strategists working together to help brands navigate the metaverse.I want to tell you metaverse, we are all builders of the world and it is our time to build and now.

The bell ringing ahead of this week’s NFT NYC event is made in the physical world and in the metaverse, Hackl said in his brief speech.

Journey is one of several companies creating experiences for some of the world’s largest brands on multiple platforms including Roblox, Fortnite Creative, Decentraland, Sandbox, Rec Room, VR Chat, Horizon and more. Journey is led by Andrew Zimmerman, former CEO of Frog Design. Journey’s backers include private equity firm Growth Catalyst Partners.

Zimmerman is on hand right now, as is Jordan Edelstein, head of business development at Manticore Games.

The group cheered loudly when the countdown to the ringing of the bell dropped to zero. Everyone had the opportunity to take pictures of the stage, including the group of women that Hackl has been assembling so far. Hackl signed the document saying he actually rang the opening bell or whatever. Then they came out to look at their faces on the big screen in Times Square.
