Here is the Croisette:

Digital art and NFTs are thriving, especially at Art Basel, the leading contemporary art fair, with art market stars like American Jeff Koons launching this thriving segment.

Art galleries are also from the Côte d’Azur. Videos, animated drawings, drawings … these dematerialized creatures revolve around the world of art.

Only 6% of galleries worldwide will be selling NFTs by 2021.

Jeff Koons, one of the world’s most expensive living artists, plans to install 125 small versions of these sculptures called “Moon Phases” on the moon with a photo of their location, which sold in the form of NFT (Non-fungible token, or non-fungible token).

Buyers will also receive a life size sculpture, set in a stone
valuable for marking its location on the moon.

Recently, David Cronenberg sold an NFT photo of his kidney stones …

While NFT’s art -related sales volumes rose to $ 945 million in August, it fell back to 366 million in January and then to 101 million in May, according to a report.

“I think NFTs have a place in the market in the future,” Marc Spiegler, director of Art Basel, told AFP, even though their prices have “collapsed recently” at a time when artists are increasing their experiments using digital tools.
