Lézignan-Corbières: High school web radio is looking for its future hosts

Since 2019, several students have hosted a web radio at Ernest-Ferroul high school. This year, their flagship project received the Academy’s first “Médiatiks” award, which was selected for the national prize.

Ernast-Ferroul high school web radio’s adventure, “Teen Star Fm”, began with former librarian teacher Dominique Angelvy, referent of the CLEMI system in the context of media and information education. In 2019, he offered students the opportunity to place a web radio inside the school. Recruitment used to be more encouraging with a dozen participants, especially from the cinema option, including five to six hard -working students. From there, a convention followed for a columnist from Radio Marseillette to guide the youth in their first steps.

. Students can then come in their free time from Monday to Thursday afternoon and live on web radio amid reports, movies, interviews, series … A job where they won second place in the Mediatiks competition for academia. Montpellier.

What is the future of radio? While the web radio staff has dwindled, it is now comprised of only three non-permanent students at Terminale (see below). Far from being demotivated, this year they covered a large interdisciplinary Retirement education project. The four -episode series they got from it won the first Mediatiks prize from CLEMI (**) for the depth and quality work done. A great reward for their last year on web Radio. Now, for them and for the new documentary professor, Florent Cazier, the search for the next generation for web radio to continue: ” The goal is that Teen star Fm will be a radio station for young people from Lézignan and not just for high school, explanation by Florent Cazier. A youth radio made by young people with their chosen topic, how to deal with them… To do this, the project will be given to middle school students from Rosa-Parks and Joseph -Anglade, equipped with web radio. Together with my documentary colleagues, we will work to open the project in three establishments. High school is the reference because most middle school students are scheduled to integrate it afterwards.
