Diablo 4 was the subject of a lengthy presentation during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. The least we can say is that this new episode has convinced the fans. Blizzard took the opportunity to restore the franchise’s image after the stormy mobile and PC release of the much -criticized Diablo Immortal. Is this the redemption saga?
- A premium adventure
- Legit sequel
- Diablo pure juice

A premium adventure
Diablo Immortal, the spin-off of Blizzard Entertainment’s famous saga, has been available on mobiles and PCs since June 2, 2022, and reception from players and press is cold, not to say ice. However, this Hack ‘n’ Slash combines the best of Diablo II and Diablo III, which is an artistic direction with “dark” tones and thrilling play. The Blizzard title also showed great generosity with at least 30 hours of play before seeing the limitations of a system based on… tune!
You guessed it. Diablo Immortal’s business model is the source of players ’anger, and they make it known by practicing exploration bombing. Simply put, players express their anger by giving a very low rating. The iOS version of Diablo Immortal boasts a painful “user score” of 0.5/10 on MetaCritic. This is even worse on PCs where the user rating does not exceed 0.2/10. It has to be said that Diablo Immortal’s economic model is much more aggressive. According to the creator of the Bellular News content, you need to spend the “moderate” amount of US $ 110,000 to raise your character.
Without waiting, the Diablo community fell head over heels for the spin-off, and rightly so, despite the apparent playful qualities. What about Diablo IV? Will the next major episode follow the path of Immortal? The answer is no. Diablo 4 will go on sale and release in 2023 on PC and consoles with a ton of content expected. Blizzard Entertainment is even considering expansions. Here are the comments posted on Twitter by Adam Fletcher, the Global Community Lead on the Diablo series:
Diablo 4 was released for the price of a full-featured video game made just for PC and console viewers. The content of the game is rather broad, and there are tons of post-launch content for all players. The fee will be reserved for optional cosmetic items and full expansion. More info coming soon!
Diablo IV is the direct sequel to Diablo III: Reaper of Souls and actually occurs after the events of the last main stage. The world of the Sanctuary lives in relative peace, blamed on fragments of Black Soulstone, as life continues its course. However, power -seeking cults summoned Mephisto’s daughter. Lilith, already seen in Diablo II, thus becomes the main antagonist in this new episode. His presence, though hiding in the shadows, darkens the hearts of the creatures who inhabit the kingdom. Facing the return of darkness, a select few have taken up arms to combat this new threat.
These heroes are unique because of their angel-demon choice. In effect, these warriors set to defend the kingdom were the Nephalem, a powerful descendant born from the relationship between the angel Inarius and the demon Lilith. These two most powerful entities behind the creation of the Kingdom of Sanctuary have been in conflict in the past. Seeing her children threatened, Lilith tries to destroy their opponents … forcing Inarius to drive her into the void. Mephist’s daughter is now back.
As Diablo Immortal tries to fill in the gaps left in the Diablo saga timeline, and sheds new light on the time between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III, Diablo IV continues the story of the Sanctuary and opens a new, lesser chapter in Nephalem’s life.these legendary creatures are dedicated to protecting the kingdom against the threat posed by their demonic descendants.
Diablo pure juice
Diablo is the perfect marriage between intense action sequences and intricate gameplay mechanics. Diablo IV promises it all and more. Blizzard Entertainment doesn’t seem to want to twist the formula, to the contrary, but to refine it, improve it. We’ll get back to what’s new in Diablo IV later. Let’s focus for a moment on what makes up the DNA of the franchise. Make no mistake about it, Diablo 4 is actually a Hack ‘n’ Slash in the purest tradition. If in terms of its playful and narrative structures, the rise of avatars and of course the theft, this new episode includes the vision of its predecessors.
The level of the campaign being scripted, Lilith’s return is not good for our heroes. Blizzard Entertainment artists have always been able to enhance their universe through stunning cinematics, and the opponent is surprisingly Diablo being fourth in name. As for the fights, fans of epic games will be served. From what we saw, the bestiary looked different and particularly tough. It can test your skill as a warrior and tactics as well as your deep desire to survive. For the more adventurous, The Last Game, a must in the series, promises to be as expansive and epic as the main adventure.
Let’s talk a little bit about the visual aspect of Diablo IV. After shocking fans with an art direction that fans called “also” colorful in Diablo III, the Blizzard artists darkened the whole thing in Diablo Immortal. Diablo IV goes back to the origins… Diablo II and its graphics are inspired by Dark Fantasy. Fans demanded a gothic and mature universe. One thing is for sure, their murmurs are heard. Diablo IV “finally” joins the dark side, and it’s not to displease us.
The way of the hero
Diablo IV is equipped with its release, scheduled as a reminder of the first half of 2023, with five classes. The Witch, the Druid, the Barbarian and the Thief are accompanied by the Necromancer. The announcement was made during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022. So five classes for five very different destinations, because in Diablo the path is as important as the destination. The adventure begins with choosing an archetype of the ones we just mentioned. Already available in one or more Diablo games, these classes are of course reworked by Blizzard.
Counting spells, summoning creatures and curses, allowing your omnipotence to speak in close combat, attacking from a distance or even changing an animal… is your choice. Trouble, Customizing the hero or heroes and increasing its power is central to the experience created by Blizzard Entertainment. According to the developers, the RPG dimension has never been “perfect”. It is now possible to create your character and change its aesthetics through many options. Stealing, which is always central and likely generous, determines the styles of play adopted by the heroes of the Sanctuary kingdom.
A real MMO
All games with the Diablo seal are structured around a central hub, rifts and a series of semi-open areas to explore. For the first time in its history, The Blizzard saga breaks down the walls of its universe and gives players an open world to explore. according to missions… or not for that matter. Adventurers are invited to explore territories, participate in random events, explore 150 dungeons and discover the mysteries of the Sanctuary kingdom. Another good news and not the least, Diablo 4 is fully playable with 1 to 4 players onlineand the Multiplayer dimension doesn’t stop there.
This Hack ‘n’ Slash is game of the cross and cross-save. Understand here that you can play between PC and console players and that your progress is transferred from one platform to another. In addition, Blizzard Entertainment is doubling down through the merger World Boss and other world events. All server players are invited to join the venue and work together more to defeat the giant monsters. Sanctuary became here a shared world where the players. Diablo IV became social experiment fully established.
Added to this is the creation of clans, a ranking system and above all the Player vs. Player. By eliminating other players, the hero in question gets the Champion title and actually becomes a beaten target for everyone on the server. And as if this were not enough, the title is playable on both local, home consoles only. Building on the experience gained by Diablo Immortal, Blizzard Entertainment is pushing the MMO aspect (for massively multiplayer online games) even with Diablo IV.
Diablo IV will be released in 2023 on PC and home consoles and could mark the return of the Blizzard saga’s grace.
