Nathalie Bourgeois won the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France in animal healing in 2015. In particular

Step 1: detangling

The client of the day, Mia, a Bichon Havanese woman, was willing to lend herself to our session. Nathalie Bourgeois, our expert, started by removing her hair.

Before brushing, he would spray a detangling spray 20 cm from the animal, starting at the back. This product speeds up brush glide and prevents hair breakage. For brushing, he uses a card. The important thing is to part the hair so you can always see the dog’s skin, so that the brush is good starting at the root. Otherwise, the brush will be only superficial and all the knots will remain in the hair.

Pass the card from top to bottom. After the back, brush one side of the animal then the other. Once you have removed the clothes, complete the detangling with a long, wide toothbrush. Continue in the same way as chard, starting at the root, from the skin. Repeat the operation on the legs and other parts of the body: first the spray, then the carder and finally the comb. A good separation before the bath avoids tying knots in wet hair.

Step 2: the bathroom

First, read the hair thoroughly. To prevent it from staying dry underneath, apply the spray directly to the skin. Use the tip of the shower hose without the head for a more powerful jet.

Place a non-slip mat under the box so the dog doesn’t lose balance when you lift one of his legs to clean between the pads. Wash the shampoo well. Don’t forget the beard, the inside of the ear, and the corners of the eyes.

Finish your head and wash it first, being careful that the shampoo does not get into your eye. Hold the goatee’s dog so he doesn’t try to run away. Do not hesitate to open its lids to remove the residue. Wash the body by wiping the jet at the base of the hairs, on the skin. Sponge as much water as possible with a towel.

Step: 3 brushing

Drying, including short hair, is important to avoid wet dog odor. To avoid burning the animal, be very careful and keep your hair dryer on medium heat.

When drying, split the bristles to dry them at the base. If the root is dry, so is the tip of the hair. Brush while drying, always holding the dog by the hairs under the forehead.

To clear Mia’s eyes, Nathalie Bourgeois separated the locks that fell on her eyes with a long comb. He tied it with two small rubber bands, making sure the pigtails didn’t pull on the dog’s eyelids, otherwise he would try to remove them. The groomer will do the final combing, which will slip through the soft, silky coat himself.

After this session, Mia seemed satisfied with her new look. No need to suffer to be beautiful if the coat is constantly maintained.
