“No human being is perfect, certainly not, none of us, but never in my life have I sexual violence or physical violence,” said the 58 -year -old actor. Called again at the bar in this trial that began six weeks ago in Fairfax, near Washington, his lawyers asked him how he felt when he heard the accusations of his ex-wife.
“It’s crazy to hear these horrific accusations of violence, of the sexual violence he’s inflicted on me,” the star of the Pirates of the Caribbean saga explained. “It’s all confusing, pathetic things he says I do,” he added.
“It’s horrible, ridiculous, embarrassing, crazy, painful, cruel, brutal and cruel in an unimaginable way, and a complete lie”, he launched, repeated by the jury: “a complete lie”. The comedian assures that no one “wants to reveal themselves to tell the truth”, but he has to reveal what he has “carried in his heart, with hesitation, for six years”.
“Violent Husband”
The couple began a relationship in 2011, before getting married in 2015. But Amber Heard filed for divorce in May 2016 accusing her of domestic violence. The divorce ended in early 2017. In 2020, she lost a London defamation case against British tabloid “The Sun”, calling her a “violent husband”.
He immediately filed a complaint with the state of Virginia against his ex-wife, describing himself in a column published in the Washington Post in 2018 as “a public figure representing domestic violence”, without named Johnny Depp.
Believing this platform had damaged his reputation and his career, he claimed 50 million dollars in damages. The 36-year-old actress, who appeared on posters for “Justice League” and “Aquaman”, counterattacked and demanded a double, claiming to be banned from the film industry from her platform.
At the helm, he cites a number of arguments that turned into physical violence when Johnny Depp was under the influence of a cocktail of drugs and alcohol, including a rape with a bottle of alcohol in 2015 in Australia.
“He never pushed me”
The actor for his part admitted that his wife was violent and in particular cut off the tip of his finger by throwing a bottle of vodka at her during the same argument. Previously, British supermodel Kate Moss has denied rumors that her ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp pushed her up the stairs during their relationship, during a brief testimony test.
“He never pushed me or dropped me down any stairs,” Kate Moss said via videoconference from England. On May 5, Amber Heard described a heated argument with her husband in March 2015 and raised a rumor that Johnny Depp once pushed Kate Moss down a flight of stairs.
The 48-year-old supermodel, who had a relationship with the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ actor between 1994 and 1998, recounted an incident that happened while the couple were on vacation in Jamaica. “We went out of the room and Johnny left in front of me. There was a thunderstorm and when I came out of the room I fell down the stairs and injured my back, ”he said.
“And I cried because I didn’t know what was happening to me and I was sick. He came back to run to help me and took me to my room and gave me medical help, ”the supermodel continued in the three -minute intervention. Amber Heard’s lawyers didn’t want to question Kate Moss. The trial, which began on April 11, will end on Friday, and its outcome remains uncertain.
