Job description:
As Director, Public Relations and Corporate Communications, you are responsible for developing and implementing our communications strategy while supporting and aligning our company mission and business strategy. You will lead and manage a small team of experienced Communications professionals to drive our corporate communications, oversee our Canadian communications operations, and provide direction to ensure the progress of a global-local communication ecosystem. This role is tailored for a high-performing communicator who wants to lead a growing global company.
Your day could be like this:
- Plan and maintain our corporate communications strategy and action plan
- Align our external communications with important business messages and identify strategic channels that will position Solotech as a global AV technology and entertainment leader, attract the highest talent and engage with key external partners.
- Lead and mentor the communications and media relations team and operations
- Ensure the smooth running of communication operations, from planning to writing, through translation and proofreading, to publishing and distribution
- Improve our media relations practice, to increase our popularity
- Structure our strategy of donations, partnerships and sponsorships to enhance Solotech’s brand image
- Ensuring a consistent rhythm of communications to increase awareness of Solotech stakeholders
- Solotech’s own corporate message is available on many platforms and tools: media kits, About Solotech, corporate website sections, and more.
- Identify stories that should be published in the press; create a framework for intellectual property management and authorization for global public relations
- Ensure that monthly reports and metrics are tracked, reported and shared by key stakeholders to align with key performance indicators
- Work with cross-functional teams on marketing and business development initiatives (newsletters, event promotion, online PR), acting as digital content experts
- In conjunction with HR:
- Promote the company’s employer brand and recruitment opportunities
- Establish internal communication strategies to help build positive brand sentiment among new employees in companies acquired through M&A
- Explain best practices for internal communication, including technology and processes to ensure awareness of all employee groups
- In affiliate marketing:
- Plan brand awareness campaigns and visibility plans, in line with company objectives and positioning
- Identify and implement opportunities that build brand and service/product awareness (case studies, sponsorships, partnerships, events, etc.)
- Support copywriting of marketing content as needed (web, newsletter, articles, etc.)
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications or public relations, with a preference for an MBA
- Minimum 7-10 years communication experience, including managing a bilingual communications operation in a global business
- Experience in managing a team of professionals to implement and implement high -impact strategies
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills in English and French (mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience in media approach and acquired media practices
- Strong and reliable business technology and media relationships, as well as the experience of supporting senior executives, are a strong asset.
- Experience in implementing new communication strategies focused on results and team integration
- Experience in effectively linking internal and external company brand communication
- Excellent experience working with management teams to develop and implement a global communications strategy
- Most enthusiastic and adaptable, with a proven ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, environmentally oriented environment, especially in the context of interactions and acquisitions.
- Ability to influence people and facilitate cooperation with internal and external partners.
- Ability to extract, compile, understand and act on key performance indicators, both quantitative and qualitative
- Ability to create (plan, write, edit) content and actively participate in ongoing projects and their tactics
