“I let our story die”

From a burning passion to a dazzling career, Lino Ventura nonetheless went through thick and thin to secure his role as husband, father and lover. AmoMama returns to the story of the incomparable life of the great Fernand Naudin in “Tonton Flingueurs”.

Lino Ventura, Italian by blood but French by heart, has always been counted among the most popular actors in French cinema from the 1950s. He looks like a strong man under his appearance as a professional wrestler.

However, the cinema and especially his connections with his family were able to discover the world of his rational human side.

AT 22, LINO VENTURA LEFT HIS MILITARY SERVICE “IN THE PERIL OF HIS LIFE” TO BE WITH HIS LOVE, ODETTE

The theatrical love story of Lino Ventura and his wife Odette Le Compte is known only to everyone through their youngest child, Clélia Ventura. She received from her mother more than three hundred letters written by her father during their 14 months of separation and a true novel worthy of the name that resulted from it: “Wait for me my beloved”.

Lino Ventura, who was 22 at the time and newly married to his beloved Odette, went to Italy to join the army. Some time later, after a request for permission to leave was denied, the letter relating to this period in June 1942 wrote words of deep sorrow:

“I’m hurt darling and I want to cry a lot. I wish mom was there and crying in her arms.”

However, the flame of love between the newlyweds was even more burning, and almost every day Lino Ventura wrote to his lover, for fourteen months apart.

Unable to get away from the woman he loved, he tried everything and left the Italian army, taking all the risk of being captured or shot. However, he was successful and in the name of love, became Lucien Vernot thanks to false roles.

Lino and Odette really knew what they were going to do to find each other, one to hide in the barn in Anjou, and the other to face the intimidation of the Gestapo who summoned her.

However, they remained and a few years later, the couple even decided to buy this house that served as a barn symbolizing freedom in the eyes of the two lovebirds.

“I know very few guys who risk the firing squad out of love. They love each other so much, they have become more of a fusion couple ”,

commented Clelia Ventura.

THE BIRTH OF HIS SON LINDA, MENTALLY HANDIICAPPED FROM THE BIRTH, CHANGED THE LIFE OF LINO VENTURA FOREVER.

From this pure and intense love were born four bright children in the eyes of their parents. Three girls and a boy: Mylène, born in 1946, Laurent, in 1950, Linda, in 1958, and Clélia, in 1961.

For his family, Lino Ventura bowed to his film sets but did not compromise family time. As a result, she warned producers in advance that she would be disconnected from work for half of her children’s summer vacation to spend it with them.

With warm love for each of her children, she has to accept that her daughter Linda needs her devotion. Having had a stroke at birth, growing up was not easy for baby Linda.

Similarly, Lino Ventura and his wife Odette have learned to see the world through the eyes of their daughter, but it is not always easy when the lack of care, structures and support adapted to their daughter became overwhelming.

This would somehow diminish Lino Ventura’s determination to offer his daughter a gentler world. In contrast, his wife Odette and Lino Ventura want to reach more children with disabilities by creating the Perce-Neige foundation.

The foundation laid since December 6, 1965 aims to meet this vital need for receiving and supporting structures for children with special needs.

“I am the father of a child like no other”,

he meant during his socially attractive television show, the first moments of Perce-Neige.

Unfortunately, the two know that this love has not been revealed since Lino Ventura will not separate from his wife because of the need for his daughter. However, their desire for each other is so strong that the couple agrees to be lovers.

And Yanou Collart is on the same page with the love of her life:

“She didn’t promise me. But don’t be fooled. We organized ourselves to live our love story”

LINO VENTURA GIVES HER HAPPINESS WITH YANOU, IN ORDER NOT TO BREAK UP HIS BASIC DAUGHTER: “WE SUFFER LIKE ANIMALS”

Ten years of close love with Yanou did not leave Lino Ventura’s marriage without a break. The actor’s wife, who discovered their relationship soon after, put a lot of pressure to make it stop. However, Yanou is the one he feels the most because Lino Ventura knows that his place is always with his daughter, Linda, and so he marries Odette.

So, following his heart and protecting it from greater suffering, he released his beloved.

“We both suffered like animals, but despite the foolish desire that I should see him again, I kept going”,

“The day you’re gone from my life, it’s like when the lights go out”,

these words always annoy the blonde with azure eyes.

Until the actor’s death in 1987, Lino and Yanou remained in their life decision. Lino remained with his daughter, and Yanou lost his only love in 1987.
