Game News GTA 6: After Grand Theft Auto 5, what’s the revolution for the Rockstar cult game?
As rumors about it continue, the sixth installment of Grand Theft Auto is slowly taking shape – at least in the minds of fans. To date, no image or official information has arrived to confirm theories of Rockstar’s next project. Anyway, we have a good idea of what the title will look like. Here, then, without waiting – our ideal GTA 6.
We can hear it almost every day, but Grand Theft Auto 6 remains a big and big mystery right now. All we know from a reliable source is that the title is in progress, Which is not so bad. Last February, Rockstar studio (GTA, Red Dead Redemption) confirmed clearly: “The development of the next Grand Theft Auto game is off to a good start”. A sentence was issued in all concessions, at the foot of an article apparently sacred, on the company’s official site. You know, Rockstar does what it wants. As for the announcement of Red Dead Redemption 2 on Twitter, in 2016: first, a logo on a red background, silhouettes, then the formalization, followed by a trailer two days later.
But unlike Arthur Morgan’s adventures, GTA 6 doesn’t seem to want to draw its first images. And it probably won’t be right away. Rockstar is deafening and many analysts believe the release of the new Grand Theft Auto for 2024/2025, even if the latter option seems impossible. In contrast, 2023 may be a short deadline. Above all, let’s not forget that the company already has a lot of work to do. The online counterparts of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 continue to be regularly featured, while the PS5 / Xbox Series versions of the latest Grand Theft Auto have just arrived, with an added bonus in a new subscription formula, called “GTA +”.
Cards and online games
So while waiting for more concrete elements, how can Rockstar innovate or at least improve a GTA 5 on top of its form and glory? We’re still talking about the second -best -selling game in history – 160 million units – and that has gone through not one, not two, but three console generations. A huge longevity owes to Rockstar in large part to Grand Theft Auto Online, the online dimension of the fifth installment. Thanks to a follow-up worthy of a real game of service (many new features, including an increasing number of scripted robberies) the company has ensured revenue and advertising in the long term. Apparently, this aspect will be central to GTA 6, with a few improvements: less farm-based improvements, servers that can accommodate multiple players, a roleplay dimension why not directly mixed with all. And there are other ways.
Many insiders, including the famous Jason Schreier, claim that Grand Theft Auto 6 features a scalable map, able to metamorphosing – even in growth – in weeks and months. A piece of information that can mean two things: first from an “online” point of view, with a common game space that changes according to events on the basis of a weather system (Fortnite style , Call of Duty Warzone). Or from a solo perspective, with a card that can represent the passage of time, such as completing a bridge in another area, or the player’s actions, following up on a building that had collapsed hours before. A scalable card can also make it possible to avoid crunch phases, i.e. additional working hours, ranging from a moderate base to a slow expansion. RDR2 is pinned to the subject.
I don’t know I haven’t seen everything yet but early in development, there is an evolving/expanding map (which I also reported last year), etc.

I haven’t seen the full project yet (GTA 6 -editor’s note) but the progress is still in its infancy, and there’s an updated / expanding map – Jason Schreier, July 4, 2021, on Twitter
Speaking of damaging elements, Grand Theft Auto never has an example in this area, limiting this aspect of the damage done to vehicles. There is a good chance that GTA 6 will improve on the topic. A job offer published by Rockstar in October mentions “Too many collapse events like skyscrapers crashing to the ground”. Intriguing, isn’t it? In any case, it is with this kind of thing that society is once pushing the boundaries of the possible, as it is always like to do. “In every project we launch, we have a desire to always excel ourselves and do something that has never been done before” says the studio, on its official website.
Better environmental damage will bring new possibilities to the game, as well as even more bizarre main missions (not to mention the Multiplayer effect). But that’s not all GTA 6 6 can do to be better than its big sibling: returned to a map of several towns for example, what hasn’t happened since Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, in 2004. On the subject, rumors evoke a new version in Vice City, Chicago, places like Cuba or Florida. What gives an unprecedented measure of hero rise, and why not improve membership in a gang. Finally, we would not say no to real estate management and stock market investment efforts.
More mature storyline
Overall, GTA 6 is undoubtedly about to change the field of possibilities in terms of realism in the open world, thus combining the qualities of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. And who who says realism probably says a scenario that is more rooted in reality, like the excellent GTA 4, where we follow the adventures of Niko Bellic, a war veteran of Serbian origin who will do everything to achieve his dream of America. The fifth part is, in part, more unrestrained, following the personal and marital adventures of Michael, Franklin and Trevor. Result: the quests are definitely varied and very fun, but in the end it may be too much.
In any case, still according to rumors, Grand Theft Auto 6 will once again bet on many hero games, obviously siblings. A first for the series, which has never before called for a female protagonist to play the lead role. It’s a good idea to introduce new themes and bet on the emotional springs of a close duo. Plus, the selection of multiple playable characters undoubtedly comprises one of the great strengths of GTA 5. It just remains to cross your fingers.
